Who doesn’t love a cat wearing a bow tie?

Meet Boris—a dapper orange tiger cat and proud foster fail (and honestly, who could let this guy go?). With that confident pose and perfect accessory, he looks like he’s about to chair an important meeting… or at least charm his way into a second breakfast.

Boris immediately reminded me of my childhood cat, Rusty—also a bold, orange tabby with just the right mix of patience and personality. Rusty was my willing partner in countless dress-up adventures. I’d gently outfit him in doll clothes and tuck him into the basket on my bike, where he’d ride around the neighborhood like a little feline prince. He was mellow, sweet, and somehow totally on board with my childhood imagination.

There’s something especially endearing about a cat who doesn’t just tolerate attention, but seems to revel in it. Cats like Boris and Rusty carry themselves with a kind of self-assured flair—as if they know they’re fabulous and don’t mind being admired. That mix of easygoing charm and subtle sass makes them irresistible, both as companions and portrait subjects.

Drawing Boris, with his crisp bow tie and golden-orange stripes, felt like stepping into a sweet memory—like capturing a bit of childhood joy and cat charisma all at once. can easily see why!
